by inserting the application number 05/2019/2001. The application was validated from 27th August, and was advertised on 11th September. You have until 11th October to make any comments, and a planning decision will be made by 24th November. Although comments are accepted until just before the planning committee scheduled meeting.
Look! St Albans invites you to review not only the planning application, but the substantial body of work you, the community, co-produced to inform this application. Look! does not have an opinion on any planning application, but suggests the community judges any application taking into account the body of work the community have produced to inform the application.
Well in excess of 1,000 hours the community have given to trying to ensure this development is a worthy legacy for OUR city centre. People from the entire district and well beyond have a stake in the city centre and care passionately about how it looks and feels.
People want to feel when they stand in the city centre that the buildings reflect the ‘place’ and could not be found in St Anywhere.
After giving so much of your time please do have your final say!
Elements from either concept plan could be used in final planning applications.

The history of community participation for CCOS
Look! St Albans was approached by The Partnership in 2016 to host a Masterplanning charrette. “Look! St Albans to hold a Design Charrette for the Civic Centre Opportunity Site!” http://www.lookstalbans.org/1/post/2016/07/look-st-albans-to-hold-a-design-charrette-for-the-civic-centre-opportunity-site.html
To enable us to undertake such a large project we were delighted to receive financial support. “Look! St Albans attracts funding from local businesses to help with our work” http://www.lookstalbans.org/1/post/2016/08/-st-albans-working-together-look-st-albans-attracts-funding-from-local-businesses-to-help-with-our-work.html
This funding enabled us to not only send out letters of invitation and produce posters, but we were able to put flyers through over 36,000 premises within St Albans and surrounding areas inviting people from all sections of the community to join us. “Keep your eyes peeled, this is your personal invitation being delivered to over 36,000 homes!” http://www.lookstalbans.org/1/post/2016/08/-keep-your-eyes-peeled-this-is-your-personal-invitation-being-delivered-to-over-36000-homes.html

A Community Design Review is the opportunity for the community to comment on someone else’s design whereas a Design Charrette is where the community are co-authors of a design.
Look! St Albans has made an offer to St Albans District Council to host a detailed design charrette for CCOS North, were are awaiting a response.
